TO DO: Russian Thriller at MoMA, Art Walk, Retro Roller Skating Party

NEW YORK

Haven’t the foggiest clue what happened in this movie trailer as it is all in Russian, but this movie looks so Ghost Protocol meets Eye Wide Shut. “If you could sell Communism to millions with image control, slogans, and songs, just imagine how the first notes of a jingle for German beer might resonate. A metaphysical Mad Men from the go-go 1990s, Generation P is a wonderland of images and ideas that emerged from the rebirth of a nation as a marketer’s paradise.” It’s part of the New Directors / New Films Festival going on at MoMA.

MIAMI

From Flavorpill: The Evian Live Young, Skate On event is a retro beachside roller-skating party in the park, a pop-up that celebrates World Health Day with an attempt to set the record for the world’s longest roller-skating conga line. If whizzing ‘round on skates sounds like your ideal Saturday, or if you’d just love to be part of the record-breaking fun with the pros at RecordSetter, then join us at Collins Park. To add to the fun, there will be performances from professional jam-skaters Tony Zane, Diamond Walker, and Brandon Perea (as seen on America’s Best Dance Crew and America’s Got Talent), limited-edition baby tees for the first 300 people, live music from DJ Jubilee, free skate rentals, and free treats from the ice-cream virtuosos at CoolHaus.
