The Standard

Since adopting the rigid rules of the Ryan McGinness Studio—they even have a manual!—things at Standard HQ have gotten considerably more productive. Still, we can’t hold a candle to the the artist himself, who’s unveiling yet another amazing batch of paintings at Pace Primitive on Friday. They’re in keeping with his famed black-light aesthetic, but this time he’s playing with ancient symbols instead of sex kittens.

The last time we saw Ryan, he was prepping a trifecta of installations for The Standards in New York, Hollywood, and LA, along with a deck of nudie playing cards, which are still available here. Of course, if you can’t make it to Pace, there’s always Le Bain: that’s Ryan’s mural you’re staring at when you’re waiting for the elevator.
