Oil headquarters always make us a bit heady – we’re talking about you, mid-century sex-pot Standard, Downtown LA – thus, do try out Caña Rum Bar, a throwback to 1930s Havana. Located within the historic Petroleum Building, with an entrance hidden in the corner of an elegant parking garage, Caña offers an elegant atmosphere in which to enjoy elegant drinks crafted by elegant mixologists that make you elegantly drunk.

MIAMI

Celebrated member of the DFA cadre, The Juan MacLean is down in Miami this weekend playing a set. His new album, Happy Music, is fantastically mirthful and makes even the grumpiest listener, at the very least, just a little bit happy. We interviewed him last October when he was playing at Le Bain. So read that and then if you’re in Miami this Friday, lucky you.
