Last Saturday at Le Bain, Milk Gallery and Mad Decent joined forces to celebrate the release of Diplo’s photo book 128 Beats Per Minute: Diplo’s Visual Guide to Music, Culture and Everything in Between (Universe). Shot by Annie Leibovitz’ former photo assistant, Shane McCauley and spanning seven years and thirty-two countries, the book is a National Geographic tour into the world of a superstar DJ – screaming crowds, gorgeous beaches and lots of airports. If you’re not familiar with the DJ/producer, fashion designer Alexander Wang describes him in the forward, “Diplo masters the space between DJ and producer with a true talent and craft … that’s his gift.” There’s also a photo exhibition at the Milk Gallery this weekend and check out this killer behind the scenes video.
