If you don’t live in New York, then I don’t think you truly understand the importance of the arrival of May. If you’ve made it through the harsh winter unscathed, you’re golden, and when May 1st hits the calendar, your inner Coppertone girl starts to do her little dance of joy. There are many reasons to get excited, but for me, there’s only one…Sunset Beach. Yes. You heard me correctly. Our little gem of a hotel on Shelter Island, nestled quietly in a nook on Crescent Beach, opens this Friday.

For those of you who have never heard of it (and I can’t imagine there are many of you out there), Sunset Beach is a 20 room hotel featuring a sun deck in every room with unobstructed water views. In addition to lounging in the lap of coastal luxury, the hotel boasts one of the most Stan D’elicious restaurants this side of East Hampton.

The St. Tropez inspired eatery starts the day by serving breakfast and doesn’t close til the DJ says it’s time to go home…for me, that’s usually three days later, but I digress…

The best part of your stay is going to be the new vintage of André Balazs Reserve Rosé we’ve been lovingly aging for the past year in anticipation of your arrival. This year’s production is light and crisp, and it will complement your every moment this summer. Yes…the ENTIRE summer.
