Gehry, Dudamel, Rodarte & Mozart Dazzle at Disney Hall

May 22 2012

We bow before thee oh gods of fashion, music and design!

Now here’s a Classical music dream team: putting on Mozart’s darkest, most avant-garde opera, Don Giovanni, we have Mr. Frank Gehry (world’s most famous living architect, also architect of the concert hall) on set deign, Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the geniuses behind Rodarte on costumes. And at the podium, Gustavo Dudamel conducts the LA Phil. Four blocks away at The Standard, Downtown LA, we keep getting blinded from the glare off the 130,000 sparkling Swarovski crystals used in the costumes. We wish.

The high born and well connected might be able to get a ticket to the two remaining performances (Thursday and Saturday), but most likely these incredible images viewed with some Spotified Mozart will have to do.

Careful clutching the crystals darling

Don’t be sad. You’re blonde and in a gorgeous Rodarte dress
