The Standard

You’ll remember that one of my favorite lines from one of my favorite movies, Clueless, is when Amber says to her P.E. teacher, “My plastic surgeon doesn’t want me doing any activity where balls fly at my nose.” And Dee wittily responds, “There goes your social life!” AS IF! (It just doesn’t get old…)

Well, I’m here to inform you that this Saturday I’m giving you the opportunity to have no more than 10 balls fly at your noses, because ADIDAS’ Fanatic is back for its 11th summer soccer tournament. Yes, you heard me right. Twenty teams (hence the ten balls) are facing off in a gruesome soccer showdown. In addition, The Standard, Futbol Club, comprised of the best players from The Standard, New York and The Standard, East Village, will be once again competing to take the tournament.

The fun starts at 1pm and goes til 8pm. You’ll have the opportunity to watch us DESTROY the other teams from Visionaire Magazine, The Smile, Opening Ceremony, The Blind Barber and more. It’s open to the public. Adidas is providing the food, drink and music, and all you have to do is bring your loudest cheer (for The Standard, of course).
